Checked 30 October 2026
ExpressVPN is the easiest VPN on our list to use: one button, automatic settings and obfuscation that switches itself on. It has a UAE location and runs a separate UAE edition of its website.
In the UAE
ExpressVPN’s server page lists the United Arab Emirates as “Available” on every protocol, not as a virtual location, and the UAE is missing from its list of virtual locations. It does not name the city. Visitors from the UAE are pointed to a UAE edition of its site, which says users are responsible for following UAE law. The iPhone app is on the UAE App Store (version 12.79.1, released 29 October 2026).
Privacy and audits
KPMG audited ExpressVPN’s no-logs policy in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2025, and Cure53 and Praetorian have audited its apps and Lightway protocol (ExpressVPN). The company is based in the British Virgin Islands and is part of Kape Technologies.
Apps and devices
Apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone, Android, Apple TV, Fire TV, smart TVs, routers and browsers. The Basic, Advanced and Pro plans allow 10, 12 and 14 devices (ExpressVPN order page). Its Internet Kill Switch works on Windows, macOS, Linux, routers, Android and iOS.
Free plan, trial and refund
No free plan. The trial is only on iPhone and Android through the app stores and needs a payment method. The 30-day money-back guarantee is for new users who buy from ExpressVPN directly; app-store purchases are excluded.
What we do not like
- No free plan, and the trial needs a card.
- Does not say where in the UAE its servers are.
- Refunds of app-store purchases follow Apple’s or Google’s rules.
Choose something else if
- you want a free plan: Proton VPN;
- you want unlimited devices: Surfshark.
We did not run our own speed or streaming tests; this review is based on the provider’s own documents and the UAE App Store, checked on 30 October 2026.
